The New York Giants received good news when it was announced that Saquon Barkley was ready to go for Thursday night's primetime game against the Washington Football Team. But, they lost a starting offensive lineman after Nick Gates was carted off after a gruesome leg injury in the first quarter.
#Giants G/C Nick Gates is being carted to the locker room with a gruesome looking lower-leg injury. They put an air cast on his leg, which is never a good sign. #NYGvsWAS

It was a brutal injury and Gates was in severe pain and the cart immediately came out and took him off of the field in a tough scene for everybody. With the Giants already revamping their offensive line, it was reported that Gates had suffered a leg fracture which will ultimately end his season.

A brutal injury to the Giants offensive line, which is already thin, on the same day they shifted newly acquired Bill Price to center to try and protect Daniel Jones from the tough Washington defense.
The Giants had some things going their way early on as Barkley rattled off a long run and Daniel Jones got into the endzone with a rushing touchdown to put the G Men ahead early against Washington. But, the loss of Gates is a tough one, and all thoughts and prayers go out to Gates on his road to recovery after a gruesome injury.
