The rebuilding New York Giants have encountered yet another roadblock heading into the upcoming season. Big Blue has decided to part ways with 2018 Pro Bowler Aldrick Rosas for conduct detrimental to the team, just a few days before training camp starts.

NFL Network reporter Mike Garafolo disclosed the developments on Twitter:

The former undrafted player from the 2016 NFL Draft was highly productive for New York. He contributed 45 long field goals made, 35 extra points made, and scored 71 total kicking points last season. He was re-signed as a restricted free agent for $3.3 million this offseason after the Giants used a second-round tender on him. On July 17, Rosas was arrested and jailed for a misdemeanor hit-and-run and driving on a suspended license.

The 4-year veteran placekicker was not the first Giants player to be brought into the limelight for the wrong reasons. Giants cornerback DeAndre Baker also made the headlines for the wrong reasons. He faces eight counts of armed robbery and aggravated assault with a firearm in connection with a May 13 incident in Florida. However, both players have pleaded not guilty to the accusations.

According to a search warrant obtained by the New York Daily News,  Baker even dug himself a deeper hole. He was allegedly caught paying off victims in a $55,000 cover-up for his armed robbery case.

The Giants can only hope that the off-field shenanigans won't affect the team's performance in the upcoming 2020 season. The team is set to play under the system of newly-acquired head coach Joe Judge and hopes to improve from a lowly 4-12 record in the NFC East division.

Week 1 action will commence with the Giants host the visiting Pittsburgh Steelers on September 14.
