Western Michigan cornerback Sam Beal entered the supplemental draft the top dog and left it that way as well.

Dave Gettleman and the New York Giants made sure of that when they selected him in the third round on Wednesday.

Beal, 21, is a nice get for the Jints. He'll join Janoris Jenkins and Eli Apple in the Giants secondary at the corner spot—one that could never come deep enough.

Without Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie, Apple's ongoing struggles and Jenkins' recent issues at his North Jersey home, perhaps Gettleman thought the idea of a stud corner in the third round was too good to pass up.

In three seasons at Western Michigan, Beal played in 32 games while registering two interceptions, 10 passes defensed and 92 total tackles. With the selection, New York now forfeits its third-round selection via in the 2019 NFL Draft.
