The New York Giants may have found their replacement for Landon Collins. They have reportedly come to terms with 13-year veteran Antoine Bethea.

The news was announced by Reggie Wayne—the former Indianapolis Colts wide receiver—via Twitter. The deal is reportedly for two-years but the money is undetermined.

It's uncertain if the Giants brought Bethea in to play strong or free safety but likely strong due to Curtis Riley playing the free safety spot.

This move comes as no surprise as Bethea has played in James Bettcher's defense before. Bettcher is the Giants current defensive coordinator but was on the Arizona Cardinals staff in 2017 when Bethea was on the roster.

In 2017, Bethea had five interceptions for the Cardinals when Bettcher was calling the defense. It'll be hard to get that level of production out of him now but he will definitely help the secondary a ton with his experience.

The Giants ranked 23rd in the NFL against the pass and lost a leader in Landon Collins in free agency. Signing a veteran like Bethea makes a ton of sense instead of paying a boatload of money to another safety.

Bethea isn't afraid to get involved in the run game either, averaging 80 tackles over the last three seasons. He may be 34-years old but Bethea isn't quite done being a productive safety in the NFL.

For a team like the Giants who are low on cap space, signing Bethea can go under the radar.

Adding Bethea could prove to be very beneficial in 2019—despite losing Collins this offseason.
