The New York Giants are just days away from the season opener against the Jacksonville Jaguars, which will present a marquee matchup between star wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. and All-Pro cornerback Jalen Ramsey.

With that in mind, head coach Pat Shurmur has voiced little concern about that situation as he believes it won't stray away from the offensive game plan for the Giants, according to Kimberly Jones of The NFL Network.

This is a huge matchup between two of the best players in the league at their respective positions that should draw plenty of national attention during the contest. On top of that, Beckham Jr. has had a notable one-on-one battle in the past with Washington Redskins cornerback Josh Norman that made headway and was a bit of a distraction from the game. This is likely where most of the concerns lie with the matchup between the two young stars.

That said, it should see plenty of big plays with there likely being many big moments between the two on the field. Beyond the matchup, Beckham Jr. is motivated to prove his worth for the record-breaking contract he had recently inked that has now made him the highest-paid wide receiver in the NFL. He is also making his return from a surgically-repaired left ankle, which adds to him wanting to showcase that he can perform at an elite level regardless of the competition level against him.

Beckham Jr. will have a stiff challenge as Ramsey has quickly developed into one of the best cornerbacks in the NFL through his first two seasons. He is coming off a breakout 2017 campaign that saw him earn his first Pro Bowl selection and First-Team All-Pro nod. If anything, this should make for a highly entertaining battle between two elite-talent players within the game.
