The New York Giants presented some great news on Thursday morning when star wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. was seen catching passes while taking part in individual drills at team minicamp practice.

Giants first-year head coach Pat Shurmur seemed very pleased with Beckham Jr.'s progress and is quite excited to get his star receiver's health back to 100 percent, via the New York Giants official Twitter account.

“It’s terrific,” coach Shurmur said. “We all know what a great player he is. He is making progress to getting fully cleared. You can see he looks lively and is involved. He is taking all the mental reps that he can. It is great.”

Although there is no exact timetable for OBJ's return, he is expected to be at full speed by the time Giants training camp comes around in late July.

“It’s a process when you come back from an injury like that. As he makes progress we’ll keep getting updates. Learn what he can learn whatever way he can and try to get him ready to go so when he’s back out there full he’s ripping and rolling,’’ Shurmur said of Beckham Jr.

A video of Shurmur's press conference with members of the media, which was posted to Twitter by the Giants' official account on Thursday afternoon, can be viewed below.

With Beckham's return following his season-ending ankle injury and the Giants' selection of former Penn State star running back Saquon Barkley at No. 2 overall, there is a lot for Big Blue to be excited about towards heavily improving on a depressing 2017-18 season.
