The 2021 MLB season has been an individually forgettable one for Los Angeles Dodgers first baseman Cody Bellinger. The Dodgers still made the postseason despite his struggles all year long, but he will have to exorcise his demons in the National League Division Series if he wants to make a positive impact on his team's pursuit for another World Series title. The bad news for Bellinger, however, is that those demons are in the form of the San Francisco Giants, who have been baffling him for practically the entire season, as you can tell from this bit of trivia from Sports Radar (h/t Josh Dubow of the Associated Press).

Per@sportradar, there have been 75,528 times that a player batted 50+ times vs 1 team in a season (postseason included) since 1903. Cody Belinger's .038 average (2 for 53) vs the #SFGiants is the lowest of any of those players

The Giants have broken Bellinger. Back in the regular season, Bellinger batted .165. In 48 at-bats against the Giants prior to the postseason, Bellinger went 2-for-48 (.042), easily the worst batting average he's had in the regular season against any team he had at least five at-bats. In Game 1 of the 2021 NLDS, the Giants kept Bellinger in check again, holding him to just 0-for-3. He also went 0-for-2 in his first two at-bats in Game 2.

Bellinger has truly taken a nosedive this season in which he posted a 48 wRC+ to go with a .165/.240/.302 slash line.
