Saquon Barkley is having one of the most productive seasons a rookie running back could expect, but he's become upset with the New York Giants. What matters most to Barkley is winning football games. The Giants aren't doing that. The team is 1-5 as they head into a Week 7 matchup with the Atlanta Falcons. According to 247Sports, only two players in NFL history have racked up more than 100 yards from scrimmage in their first six games. Barkley is one of them. Regardless of his accomplishments so far, he has his mind set on other things.

“It's not really (about) enjoying it,” Barkley  told NJ.com on Wednesday. “I would be perfectly fine if I was at the bottom of every running back category and we were 6-0. At the end of the day, I just want to win. I just want to help the team win. I'm a huge competitor. It sucks to be 1-5 right now. It's not acceptable by any means, especially with the standard that we hold in the Giants organization. We just have to learn from it and continue to work, continue to trust it, continue to believe in each other.”

Nobody doubts the talent of Saquon Barkley. He's just in an unfortunate situation right now. The Giants are nearing a transition, and their success will depend on how they approach these difficult times.

One thing the Giants do know, is that Odell Beckham Jr. and Saquon Barkley are the stars of their franchise's future. Whether or not Eli manning still has time left as a quality leader is the question they need to answer.
