The New York Giants appeared to be on their way to snapping their eight-game losing streak on Sunday night, as they took a 17-3 lead over the Philadelphia Eagles into halftime.

However, the Giants did not score a point afterward, allowing the Eagles to tie the game late in the fourth quarter and then eventually win the game in overtime.

It was just the latest frustrating loss for New York, and running back Saquon Barkley is not happy about it.

“We’re a team that finds a way to lose a lot of games,” Barkley said, according to Darryl Slater of NJ Advance Media. “That’s what we are as of right now, yes. That’s our team. We’re just an inconsistent football team. We find ways to lose games.”

Barkley carried the ball 17 times for a relatively ineffective 66 yards in the loss, stretching his drought to eight contests without a 100-yard performance.

“When is that going to happen?” Barkley said. “I have no idea. … It doesn’t sit well with me.”

After a phenomenal rookie campaign in which Barkley made the Pro Bowl, the 22-year-old has rushed for just 610 yards and a couple of touchdowns in 10 games this season. He has battled injuries throughout the year, but even when he has been healthy, he has struggled behind what has been a rather porous Giants offensive line.

New York won just five games last year and has gone just 2-11 thus far in 2019.

The Giants will get a great opportunity to snap their losing skid when they take on the Miami Dolphins next weekend.
