It's been an awful year for the New York Giants so far. The team is struggling with injuries, and even when healthy, they have a hard time winning games. Saquon Barkley hasn't looked like the superstar caliber running back we know him to be. He's dealt with injuries of his own but is unproductive on the field as well.

With the season coming to an end, the Giants' clock is ticking. However, Saquon Barkley is still confident in his abilities as a running back. Although he doesn't look the same before the knee injury, Barkley disagrees.

According to Pro Football Talk, Barkley responds to those claiming he's not the same player by saying, “It's week whatever in the NFL, no one is 100 percent physically. That's their opinion, but I know I am.”

Barkley is coming off a serious ACL tear. Since his return, he hasn't been as efficient. It takes time for somebody to get back in the groove after a knee injury like that. However, in the eight games he's played, the Giants running back has only recorded 315 rushing yards and three total touchdowns.

The film and the stats point out that Barkley is not quite the same. Even so, it's not like he's surrounded by an elite offense. The Giants have a poor offensive line and a receiving core that can't stay healthy. Daniel Jones doesn't look like the franchise quarterback New York was hoping for either. All of that together makes for a poor offense built around Saquon Barkley.

With five games left in the regular season, it's time for Barkley to produce. He has a chance to end the year on a strong note and build some momentum for the Giants in the 2022 season. He'll have a chance to bounce back in a big way in Week 14, as New York takes on the Los Angeles Chargers.
