Rookie quarterback Daniel Jones has hit the skids in recent games after beginning his NFL career like second coming in New York. After taking the reins from Eli Manning in Week 3, Jones has struggled to pass the ball efficiency and throw it more than 10 yards downfield.

While of course there would be a recession in his production now that NFL teams have tape on the young quarterback, head coach Pat Shurmur restated the team's commitment to Jones as the starter.

Turning back to Eli Manning at this point would do nothing but hurt Jones' confidence, take away his opportunity to learn how to deal with these adversities, and rile up Giants fans who would claim the franchise has no idea what they're doing.

The Giants caught the Arizona Cardinals at a bad spot with Kliff Kingsbury's team winning two in a row going into Sunday's matchup. For Jones, it will take time to fully adjust to the NFL game. The quarterback struggled against the New England Patriots last week, but who hasn't?

Jones needs his team to get fully healthy, with Barkley and Engram's return being a good start. Once he is able to get comfortable with the weapons around him and become more confident in the Giants offensive system, Jones will get better.

For now, the rookie will deal with a tough stretch of games, having to duke it out with two respectable passing defenses in Detroit and Dallas in the next two weeks.
