Former New York Giants star running back Tiki Barber has not been very vocal since retiring from the NFL. He has chimed in on a few things here and there, but he has broken his silence once again to tackle a very big situation. That situation happens to be the criticism that Giants' quarterback Eli Manning has been receiving.

Barber, while talking to Fox Business, explained why he thinks the criticism that Manning has been receiving is “unfair.”

“Look, Eli brought two Super Bowl wins to the biggest city and the biggest media market in the country. And, we want to malign him. I don’t but a lot of people want to malign him because they feel like everything is his fault. And, it’s a little bit unfair. Next year, Eli will get a chance to ride off the right way.”

New York has had an extremely rough offseason so far. First, the Giants lost Landon Collins to free agency after he made it clear that he would not play the 2019 season under the franchise tag. Then, the Giants made a tough decision to trade superstar wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. to the Cleveland Browns.

Manning will have his work cut out for him in 2019. If he wants to ride off the right way like Barber suggests, he will need to put together a huge season.

Last season with the Giants, Manning had another down year. He wasn't as awful as many have made his year out to be, but he wasn't great either.

He completed 66.0 percent of his pass attempts for 4,299 yards, 21 touchdowns, and 11 interceptions. The team around him didn't play well either, but Manning has received most of the blame.

It will be interesting to see what ends up happening with Manning next season. New York may want the franchise to move on from him now, but the grass isn't aways greener and Manning has earned another year.
