The New York Giants are sitting in an enviable spot entering the 2020 NFL Draft. Slotted to select fourth overall, they fall into the prime position of drafting just before two franchises (Chargers and Dolphins) who are heavily connected to quarterbacks in early mock drafts, which gives them an out by means of trading out of their current slot should a team be willing to overpay and take over the No. 4 selection.

It's unlikely that there's any team drafting in the top 10 that feels more wide open on their bevvy of potential picks than New York. Even if analysts can agree on an offensive lineman, they can't seem to narrow in on just one with the names Jedrick Wills Jr. (Alabama), Tristan Wirfs (Iowa), Andrew Thomas (Georgia) and Mekhi Becton (Louisville) all having been linked to the organization.

While protecting quarterback Daniel Jones is paramount heading into 2020, selecting as high in the Draft as New York is lends way to the thought that they could use the selection to add an impact talent.

The Giants' defense could use an infusion of talent that a No. 4 overall pick would presumably carry, which gives Clemson linebacker Isaiah Simmons a legitimate chance at coming off the board in the top 5. Barring a strange confluence of events that would see either Ohio State defensive end Chase Young or cornerback Jeff Okudah falling to the Giants, Simmons is the best chance for those who are holding out hopes that New York prioritizes the defensive side of the ball early.

But there also exists the possibility that general manager Dave Gettleman goes entirely outside the box. There are wild, off-the-wall possibilities about trading quarterback Daniel Jones and using the No. 4 selection to draft a new quarterback, namely either Tua Tagovailoa of Alabama or Justin Herbert of Oregon, but that requires the organization doing a complete 180-degree turn from last season when they took Jones sixth overall.

Instead, the true out-of-the-box shot that many Giants fans would likely embrace: Alabama wide receiver Jerry Jeudy. A disaster to contend with during college, Jeudy is both a former Biletnikoff winner and a projected first-round pick that may seem like a stretch at No. 4, but if New York wants a true threat for Jones that stretches the field to pair with running back Saquon Barkley, they'd be best served banking on Jeudy's tantalizing upside.

Final prediction: The Giants trade out of the No. 4 pick with a team looking to draft Tagovailoa/Herbert, thereby bankrolling additional Draft picks to help stockpile talent. In the case that they choose to keep their selection, Wirfs becomes the prediction as a means of shoring up their offensive line for Jones.
