The New York Giants are wrapping up another disappointing campaign that has seen them fall short of the playoffs for the second straight year.

It has also made it quite clear that the Giants need to address their quarterback situation to find the successor to Eli Manning. That may more than likely come through next year's draft, which Maurice Morton of Bleacher Report has voiced that New York should look to take Ohio State quarterback Dwayne Haskins should he declare for the 2019 NFL Draft.

Ohio State quarterback Dwayne Haskins hasn't declared for the draft, but if he does, the New York Giants should have eyes on him. This isn't about unceremoniously pushing quarterback Eli Manning to the curb, but general manager Dave Gettleman must start thinking about this team's future.

Haskins could more than likely become the top choice in this year's draft, especially with Oregon's Justin Herbert electing to return to school for another season. It should all but make him the top player at his position on the board with the chance to secure that vaunted first overall draft selection.

The 21-year-old has proven to be a promising talent behind his strong accurate arm that has allowed to him make all the necessary throws down the field. This should make him the primary target of several different teams fighting for position atop of the draft order.

New York currently sits in the ninth overall spot in a five-way tie at a 5-10 record heading into Week 17 action. There is a chance that they could move up if they fall in the season finale against the Dallas Cowboys.

Nonetheless, the possibility of landing Haskins could be out of reach in the first round of next year's draft.
