The New York Giants recently met with NC State defensive end Bradley Chubb as they continued to get a closer look at their possible options for the No. 2 pick. Apparently, that meeting went quite well.

According to NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo, the Giants were left “extremely impressed” with Chubb after his visit to their headquarters in East Rutherford. Chubb wore a suit and tie for the occasion and acted very cordially all afternoon. Former Giants offensive lineman Dave Diehl was reportedly “bowled over” by Chubb.

Chubb, who famously described himself as a mix of Von Miller and Khalil Mack, is reportedly very much in the mix for that No. 2 pick. While the Giants would apparently prefer to land quarterback Sam Darnold as Eli Manning’s long-term successor, Chubb is a close second alongside running back Saquon Barkley if Darnold is off the board.

Taking Chubb makes a lot of sense for the Giants given that they traded away top pass rusher Jason Pierre-Paul to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers earlier this offseason. He could provide the team with that next generation of elite pass rusher, which they have been known for over the last few years.

Chubb certainly seems to have significantly helped his chances of going second with his outstanding visit with the team. He's given the Giants a lot to think about as they make their final decision with the draft now just a couple of weeks away. But if they do ultimately pick Chubb, this visit will likely be a big reason why.
