The internet was buzzing yesterday about a potential blockbuster trade involving the New York Giants and the Cleveland Browns. The rumored trade would've sent Odell Beckham Jr. to the Browns, but it quickly got shot down.

There apparently was a real offer on the table from the Browns, but the Giants never considered it. The Giants “laughed” at the offer they received from Browns GM John Dorsey, Aditi Kinkhabwala of NFL Network said on a Cleveland radio station today. The proposed deal would've sent guard Kevin Zeitler, defensive end Emmanuel Ogbah, and one other player to the Giants.

Beckham very well might be available in a trade, but it'll take a lot more than that to land him. Any deal for Beckham will almost certainly involve a package of early draft picks and not just other veteran players. Beckham was looking like he was going to be a Giant for a long time when he signed his record-breaking extension last summer, but the honeymoon period didn't last long.

Beckham infuriated the coaching staff and front office with his off-field antics, which included publicly questioning play-calling and the ability of Eli Manning. He's been mentioned in a bunch of trade rumors recently, and it's looking more and more like the Giants might actually deal him.

Beckham is still only 26 and is one of the best receivers in the game. Considerably younger than Antonio Brown and with slightly less baggage, Beckham will surely fetch more than Brown will in any trade. In just 12 games last year, Beckham had 1,052 yards and six touchdowns. The Browns will continue to be aggressive as they build their roster, but it doesn't sound like they'll be landing Beckham. Unless Dorsey gets more realistic with his offer, that is.
