The New York Giants will once again go with veteran quarterback Eli Manning under center in 2019. Despite the fact that New York infamously selected former Duke Blue Devils quarterback Daniel Jones in the first round of the 2019 NFL Draft, Manning will continue to serve as the team's starting quarterback — which has been reiterated by just about everyone in the football world throughout the offseason.

With such a topic popping up once again on Monday, NFL Network's Mike Garafolo is now reporting that there will be “no open competition” in East Rutherford this offseason.

The Giants selected the aforementioned Jones with the No. 6 overall pick in the 2019 NFL Draft despite many scoffing at the idea of the former Duke signal caller of coming off the board so soon. While the Giants obviously believe that Jones is the team's quarterback of the future, you would never know it with the way that Manning continues to keep his job with absolutely no new competition anywhere near him.

Not only that, but many believed that Washington Redskins quarterback Dwayne Haskins would have been the better choice at No. 6 while the former Ohio State signal caller ultimately came off the board at No. 17 overall in the first round.

It is also worth noting that it is likely that Jones could have been available to the Giants at No. 17 if they truly wanted to take him over Haskins, which would have allowed New York to select a a better talent inside the top 10 this past April.
