The New York Giants are set to engage in an eventful offseason headlined by wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. The Giants' star wideout has made his desire for a new contract known ever since the end of the 2017 NFL season.

Beckham Jr. is likely seeking a deal that will make him the highest-paid wide receiver in the league. However, according to NFL Network's Mik Garafolo, he may want to see the Giants make it happen by a wide margin:

“I know that Odell Beckham has told some people that he wants some really significant numbers,” he said. “It's not gonna be top quarterback money, because top quarterback money is going through the roof.

“He's in the 20s. From what he has told people close to him, he wants to be in the low 20s.”

Beckham Jr.'s desire to be the highest-paid player at his position should come as no surprise. He is certainly more than deserving after cementing his status as one of the most electrifying playmakers in the NFL despite missing a majority of the 2017 campaign with an ankle injury.

However, the prospect of him making at least $20 million annually seems a bit unlikely at this point in time. Beckham Jr. is slated to make $8.4 million next season, which is a far cry from his current asking price. The distinction of the NFL's highest-paid wideout goes to Antonio Brown of the Pittsburgh Steelers, who is making on average $17 million a year. That said, the Giants still have a ways to go before meeting Beckham Jr.'s demands.
