In his first game back since suffering an ankle injury that needed surgery back in October, New York Giants wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. played as though he didn’t have any rust on him.

Against the Jacksonville Jaguars last week, Beckham announced his return after a long layoff with a huge game, pacing his team with 111 receiving yards on 11 catches, albeit in a 20-15 loss at home.

It also seemed that Beckham’s body had to adjust to playing competitive football again, as the former LSU Tigers star admitted to reporters that he dealt with some aches following the Jags game, per Jordan Raanan of ESPN.

Odell Beckham Jr. felt “pretty sore” after his first game since breaking his ankle last October. His body, his ankle, everything.

The Jaguars were determined in slowing down Beckham, who also didn’t have the luxury of getting warmed up in the preseason, as the Giants had no intention of exposing him to injury in an otherwise meaningless contest. Jacksonville, however, didn’t do its job completely, as evidenced by Beckham’ solid stat line.

Beckham also has an entire week to rest and heal from those seemingly minor pains before getting back on the field for a divisional rivalry game against the Dallas Cowboys this coming Sunday.

It’s only a matter of time before Odell Beckham Jr. finds the end zone, and he is hoping it will come in the Dallas game.

Beckham signed a five-year, $95 million extension deal with the Cowboys late last month.
