The L.A. Clippers proved on Monday that they were not afraid to trade a star player in order to give themselves financial flexibility in the future. They did it with Blake Griffin, and more moves may be coming for DeAndre Jordan and Lou Williams.

Some around the NBA believe that the Clippers, by making all these roster moves, are positioning themselves to make a play for big-time free agents this summer, namely LeBron James and Paul George. Other believe that James may want to join the Clippers.

But there's at least one person — a former NBA player as a matter of fact — who thinks the idea of James or any free agent deciding to play for the Clippers is about as ludicrous as a poop-flavored lollipop. That player is Gilbert Arenas.

The former Washington Wizards star called the Clippers “a second-tier, bulls—, YMCA organization” on an appearance for Complex News recently. He said no player wanted to play for the Clippers, long considered second banana to the Los Angeles Lakers.

“Nobody wants to be attracted to the second-fiddle team in Los Angeles,” Arenas said.

Gilbert Arenas was infamously involved in an incident with Javaris Crittenton while a member of the Wizards in which the two got into an argument and reportedly pulled out guns in the locker room. He may be an ex-NBA player, but his credibility on the character of other players and organizations is a bit suspect.

Nevertheless, the Clippers are trying to shed the second-fiddle perception, and appeared to have done so with Griffin and Chris Paul. Now, those two franchise cornerstones are on other teams.

The Clippers do in fact appear to be back to being the Clippers.
