Italy team captain, Giorgio Chiellini, posted a photo on Twitter with the coveted Euro 2020 trophy captioned “It's Coming Rome.” The tweet and the caption are a mock to the English National Team and its supporters who have been chanting “It's Coming Home,” day in and day out.

The skipper had a crucial role against England as he had 133 touches, 110 completed passes out of 115 attempts, 9 duels won, 4 ball recoveries, 3 interceptions, and won the most aerial duels (7) and had the most clearances (6) among the Italian players according to Squawka Football.

Giorgio Chiellini, who captained the Azzurri as they beat England on penalties 1-1 (3-2) at Wembley Stadium Sunday, was also on a photo captioned, “Don't worry, she sleeps safe. We protect her.” In the photo, Chiellini is alongside his Juventus teammate and center half pair, Leonardo Bonucci. In the photo, they hold the trophy in bed together which is a nod to former Italian star Fabio Cannavaro who started this tradition of laying down in bed next to the trophy back in 2006 when the Italian National Team won the 2006 World Cup.

It was redemption for Giorgio Chiellini and the national team as they got thrashed by the Spaniards 4-0 on their last trip to the Euro Finals back in 2012. This victory is also sweet for the Italians as they captured their first European Title since 1968 where they won in Rome. After 53 long years, it was long overdue for the people of Italy.
