The Golden State Warriors have made the playoffs 35 times and won six championships in franchise history.

Some of the greatest players in NBA history such as Wilt Chamberlain, Rick Barry, Chris Mullin, Stephen Curry and Kevin Durant have played for the Warriors, so it's not a surprise to see that the organization has had so much success since becoming a pro team all the way back in 1946.

In the Warriors' inaugural season in 1946-47, the team won the Finals by defeating the Chicago Stags in five games in what was then called the BAA Finals.

In 1947-48, the Dubs, unfortunately, lost to the Baltimore Bullets in the Finals. The series went six games.

The next four years for the Warriors saw the franchise lose in the Division Semifinals each campaign. Then from 1952 to 1955, the Dubs failed to reach the postseason entirely.

However, in 1955-56, the Warriors were back on top of the basketball world, as they defeated the Fort Wayne Pistons in the Finals in five quick games. The Dubs followed that up by losing in the Division Semifinals in 1957 and the Division Finals in 1958.

After missing the postseason in 1958-59, the Warriors reached the Division Finals in 1959-60, where they lost to the Boston Celtics in six hard-fought games. The Dubs then lost in the Division Semifinals in 1961 and the Division Finals in 1962.

The Warriors got back to the Finals in 1964. However, the team fell to the Boston Celtics in five games. The 1966-67 club reached the Finals, too. That team wound up losing to the Philadelphia 76ers in six.

The Dubs lost in the Division Finals in 1968 and the Division Semifinals in 1969. The franchise saw postseason basketball again in 1970-71, where the team fell in the Western Conference Semifinals. The Warriors lost in the Western Conference Semifinals in 1972 as well and got bounced in the Western Conference Finals in 1973.

In 1975, though, all was right again for the Warriors, as the franchise won the championship in four games over the Washington Bullets. After that ring, the Dubs lost in the Western Conference Finals in 1976 and fell short in the 1977 Western Conference Semifinals.

The Warriors didn't make the playoffs again until 1987, where they got ousted in the Western Conference Semifinals. The franchise lost in the Western Conference Semifinals again in 1989 and 1991. In 1992, the Warriors got bounced in the first round of the postseason.

During the 1994 playoffs, the Warriors lost in the first round once more. After that season, the Dubs experienced a long postseason drought. The franchise didn't make the playoffs again until 2007. The “We Believe” Warriors stunned the Dallas Mavericks in the first round of the postseason before losing to the Utah Jazz in the Western Conference Semifinals.

After another playoff drought, the Warriors were back in the playoffs in 2013. Mark Jackson's crew got to the second round. The Dubs then lost in the first round of the 2014 playoffs before their dynasty with Curry, Klay Thompson and Draymond Green started.

The Warriors won the 2015 title over the Cleveland Cavaliers. Golden State got back to the Finals in 2016 but blew a 3-1 series lead to LeBron James, Kyrie Irving, Kevin Love, and the Cavs. The Dubs won a record 73 games in the regular season, but the team couldn't cap off its magical season with a ring.

However, the Dubs responded by winning the championship in 2017 and 2018 before losing again in 2019.
