The 2021-22 PGA TOUR jumps from Houston to Georgia this week, with the 2021 edition of The RSM Classic coming our way Thursday. A grand total of $7.2 million is up for grabs in this tournament, with the winner set to take him $1.296 million — the richest ever in the history of the tourney. Originally known as the McGladrey Classic when it started in 2010, this event has been won two times by Robert Streb (2014, 2021). He returns this year seeking his third crown, but he’ll be facing a stacked field that includes the names we will be discussing below. Check out our RSM Classic 2021 preview now for more about the favorites, sleepers, and their respective golf odds.

Favorites to win 2021 The RSM Classic odds

Scottie Scheffler (+1400). It’s no wonder that Scheffler is the golf odds betting favorite to win The RSM Classic 2021. In four starts this season, Scheffler has made the cut three times. He missed the boat to the weekend at the Shriners Children’s Open then made the cut in all his next three starts, a stretch that includes a solo fourth-place finish in the World Wide Technology Championship at Mayakoba and a T2 at the Hewlett Packard Enterprise Houston Open last weekend. The 25-year-old New Jersey native has one career start at the Sea Island Resort, finishing solo fifth at the RSM Classic in 2020 with a 21-under 267.

Webb Simpson (+1600). Simpson has plenty of experience playing at Sea Island Resort, and while he’s not won there yet, he has a fantastic resume at this course. In nine events played there, Simpson has come up with a couple of runner-up finishes, four top 10s, five top 25s, while only missing the cut just once. In other words, Simpson has always put himself in a position to win at Sea Island, and his time could finally come this year. Moreover, the 36-year-old Simpson has gone 2-of-3 this season, with a T14 in his last start, which was at THE CJ CUP @ SUMMIT late last October.

Cameron Smith (+1800). Smith is off to a great start to his 2021-22 PGA TOUR campaign. He kicked it off with a T9 at  THE CJ CUP @ SUMMIT then followed that up with a T15 at the Hewlett Packard Enterprise Houston Open. More than that, the Australian has made the cut in all of his last nine worldwide starts, which includes a total of four top 10s. His best finish during that span was a solo runner-up performance at The Northern Trust. Another thing to know about Smith is that he’s never participated in the RSM Classic. Nevertheless, he’s on a roll as further underscored by the fact that he is currently 11th on the TOUR in terms of birdie average.

Sleepers to win 2021 The RSM Classic golf odds

Andrew Landry (+10000). At his current golf odds of +10000, Landry deserves a good look from bettors hunting for a worthy sleeper to place value money on. While he’s been up and down so far this season, with three missed cuts in five starts, the other two starts both had him finishing inside the top seven. That’s pretty much the story as well with his career at Sea Island Resort where he has five starts. Of those starts, he was cut twice with a pair of solo fourth-place finishes, and a 59th-place campaign.

Matthew NeSmith(+10500).  NeSmith is another golfer with a decent track record at Sea Island. In two starts there, NeSmith has gone 2-of-2 with a solo 15th and a solo 14th. As for his recent form, the five-year pro out of South Carolina, is 4-of-6 this season with a top 25. He is coming off a T46 at the Hewlett Packard Enterprise Houston Open, while his best finish to date this season was a T14 at the Shriners Children’s Open.

Final 2021 The RSM Classic Prediction & Pick

I got a feeling that this is Simpson’s time to shine the brightest at Sea Island. He may have yet to win there, but Simpson seems to have great knowledge on how to navigate his way around the course. Take Webb Simpson golf odds to be the last man standing on Sunday.

FINAL 2021 THE RSM CLASSIC PREDICTION: Webb Simpson (+1600)
