This upcoming offseason could make or break the Miami Heat. With Chris Bosh‘s NBA future in serious doubt, the Heat can't afford to lose their other primary option in the front court, Hassan Whiteside.

Whiteside will demand top dollar for his services in free agency, and it's becoming apparent that the Heat will need to do everything they can to keep him.

That includes other members of the roster doing their part in the recruiting process.

Jason Lieser of the Palm Beach Post asked point guard Goran Dragic what he'll do to persuade Whiteside to keep his talents in South Beach.

“Everything,” point guard Goran Dragic said. “What’s he want to hear? Whitey’s a tremendous player and tremendous teammate. We love him here. He knows that everybody wants him back, so hopefully he’s gonna see that.

“I’ll text him and call him 24/7, butter him up all the time. I need to make my Snapchat so I can follow him.”

Whiteside bounced around the D-League along with some brief NBA stints before emerging as one of the most exciting young big men in the game last season. He's elevated his play even more this year, averaging 14.2 points, 11.8 rebounds, and 3.7 blocks while receiving just under 30 minutes per game.

Dragic developed a positive relationship with Whiteside during their brief time together; he'd hate to see him go after just missing out on an Eastern Conference Finals appearance. From Lieser:

“He was unbelievable this season,” Dragic said. “He was great for this team. Hopefully, he sees that everybody likes him here. I love playing with him.

“Of course, we want him back. It’s his decision, but I feel like we developed great friendship with him — all the players — and hopefully he stays.”
