The Green Bay Packers (6-2) host the Jacksonville Jaguars (1-7) Sunday afternoon at Lambeau Field. Atop the NFC North standings, the Packers are coming off a blowout victory on “Thursday Night Football” over the injury-stricken San Francisco 49ers in Week 9. Quarterback Aaron Rodgers completed 25 of 31 passes for 305 yards and 4 touchdowns with zero interceptions in the shellacking.

The Jaguars, on the other hand, have lost seven in a row after beginning the 2020 season with a win. Rookie quarterback Jake Luton made his NFL debut last Sunday, filling in for the injured Gardner Minshew (right thumb fractures), and nearly led the Jags to an upset over the Houston Texans. Luton threw for 304 yards with a TD and a pick in a narrow 27-25 defeat.

With the Packers tied the New Orleans Saints and Seattle Seahawks for the top record in the NFC, they cannot afford to lose a game to the lowly Jaguars. Here are four bold predictions for the Packers ahead of their Week 10 tilt versus the Jaguars.

1. Aaron Rodgers throws 3+ touchdowns

Having already seized two Most Valuable Player honors in his decorated career, Rodgers could be on his way to his third award. Halfway through the season, Rodgers has accumulated 24 TDs against just two picks. He holds the best passer rating (117.5) in the NFL.

The Jaguars have been one of the league’s worst defenses all year. Before yielding 27 points to the Texans last week, they had surrendered at least 30 points in each of their previous six games. They rank dead last in pass-defense DVOA. Furthermore, the Jaguars have allowed a league-high 8.49 yards per attempt (YPA) this year.

Rodgers has thrown at least three touchdowns in six of eight games played. After Sunday, it will be seven.

2. Aaron Jones rushes for 90+ yards, scores TD

Despite missing two games to injury and toughing it out through a lingering calf injury in Week 9, Green Bay Packers running back Aaron Jones has accumulated 629 yards from scrimmage and seven total touchdowns.

The Packers are 13.5-point favorites at home against the Jaguars, who have been just as bad against the run as they have been defending the pass. With the Packers expected to be ahead, they will rely on Jones heavily against a Jacksonville team allowing the fifth-most rushing yards per game (138.1) to opponents.

Jones should find a way to reach the end zone. The NFL’s leader in touchdowns in 2019, Jones faces a Jaguars’ defense which has surrendered 11 rushing scores this season.

3. Davante Adams logs 125+ receiving yards, scores TD

When healthy, Davante Adams is the best receiver in football. Over his last three games, Adams has corralled 30 receptions, 422 yards and six touchdowns.

Adams leads the NFL in receiving yards per contest with 112.5. He has 36 first downs on the season, just six behind the league-leading Travis Kelce, who has appeared in three more games than Adams. Adams leads the NFL in red zone targets (16).

The Jaguars’ leaky secondary has no answer for Adams. They rank 27th in passing yards allowed per game and have yielded 17 passing scores.

Rodgers and Adams are an unstoppable duo right now and there’s no reason to believe the Jaguars can slow them down.

4. Green Bay Packers scorched by another RB

The Jaguars are massive road underdogs and must rely on rookie sensation James Robinson to keep the game close. A week after receiving a career-high 25 carries—which he turned into 99 yards and a TD—the Jaguars will be feeding Robinson the ball early and often.

The Green Bay Packers have given up a league-high 11 rushing TDs to opposing running backs. It has also allowed four receiving scores to running backs, tied for the second-most among NFL clubs. Robinson has reached pay dirt seven times this season, five rushing and two receiving.

While Robinson did not catch a pass last week—the first time he was blanked in the receiving department—he should be involved as a pass catcher this week. The Jaguars are likely to be playing from behind and would be wise to throw to their running backs against Green Bay’s pass defense, which most teams have done in 2020. The Packers have faced a running back target on 23.3 percent of pass attempts, the fourth-highest rate in the NFL.

Robinson will be doing the heavy lifting for the Jaguars, just as he done all season. He ranks seventh in the NFL in yards from scrimmage (805).

With plenty of involvement in the offense, Robinson should compile 120 total yards versus Green Bay and score his eighth career touchdown.
