The Green Bay Packers struggled to defend the pass throughout the 2017 season, making improving their secondary a point of emphasis in free agency and the upcoming NFL Draft. They brought back former cornerback Tramon Williams earlier this week, and now they're considering re-signing Davon House, according to ESPN's Rob Demovsky.

Both corners left the team back in 2014, with Williams joining the Cleveland Browns and House signing with the Jacksonville Jaguars. House returned to Green Bay last season on a one-year deal worth $2.8 million that included an $850,000 signing bonus.

Injuries forced him to miss four games, but he still managed to have a productive season, collecting 44 tackles, six pass deflections, and an interception. The year was highlighted by a trio of strong performances against the New Orleans Saints, Detroit Lions, and Chicago Bears. House picked off Drew Brees while making six tackles and two pass deflections, he racked up a season-high nine combined tackles against Detroit, and he made a season-high eight solo tackles, including a sack, against the Bears.

Green Bay's secondary issues extend beyond House, but they're hoping bringing Williams back alongside Kevin King at corner will lead to more success in 2018. Behind them on the depth chart at cornerback are Quinten Rollins, Demetri Goodson, Josh Hawkins, Herb Waters, Lenzy Pipkins, and Donatello Brown.

There's an expectation that the Packers will also select a defensive back in the upcoming draft. Green Bay currently holds a league-high 12 picks, making it quite possible that they package a few to move up to fill a need. After their first, second, and third round picks, they have two in the fourth, three in the fifth, two in the sixth, and two more in the seventh round.
