Aaron Rodgers is a fantastic talent who remains a top quarterback at the age of 35. With quarterbacks like Drew Brees and Tom Brady playing into their 40s, there is plenty of time left for Rodgers in the league.

However, there is some speculation the Green Bay Packers should look for a quarterback to address the position for the future. Considering Rodgers' history with injuries, it would be in the team's best interest to keep an eye out for a viable backup and Rodgers' possible predecessor. It's obvious at this point that backup DeShone Kizer won't be the answer for the Packers in the near or distant future.

It's unlikely the Packers will bother spending a high draft pick on a quarterback considering the team has other needs that are more urgent. Green Bay could still find a solid option in the draft after addressing needs on defense as well as getting Rodgers more weapons on offense.

Some mock drafts currently have the Packers drafting a tight end, but Jimmy Graham is still with the team and may stick around. Realistically, Green Bay could seek out a quarterback in the mid-to-late rounds of the draft to account for Rodgers experiencing any kind of injury during the season.

Boise State's Brett Rypien and Buffalo's Tyree Jackson are both solid options for Green Bay and are on track to go in the mid rounds. In addition to these two prospects, Auburn's Jarrett Stidham and Penn State's Trace McSorley also offer a solid option for the Packers in the mid to later rounds as well.

Considering Rodgers presumably still has many years left in his career, it wouldn't make a ton of sense for the Packers to draft a quarterback too early. The fact that Tom Brady was selected in the sixth round makes it obvious anything is possible in regards to finding a diamond in the rough.

Rodgers has had his share of ups and downs in recent years, including injuries and disagreements with the offensive play calling. Now that Green Bay has a new head coach in Matt LaFleur, as well as a new offensive coordinator in Nathaniel Hackett, Rodgers could be poised for a huge turnaround.

A rejuvenated new look offense could be just what Rodgers needs to bounce back after Green Bay missed the playoffs in during the 2018 season. Rodgers and LaFleur will likely form a tight-knit bond ahead of the 2019 season to make the most of a potentially high-powered Green Bay offense.

Still, planning for the future, and worst-case scenarios, seems wise.
