The San Antonio Spurs are a close knit group and they aren't afraid to say so.

Kawhi Leonard stated how he missed Tim Duncan's presence on the first day of training camp.

Now coach Gregg Popovich expressed to reporters that he's feeling a little bit lonely already.

You don't coach someone for 20 years. That's a long, long time.

Duncan did show up surprisingly after Kawhi's comments and joined in on the first training camp session.

The Spurs are expecting him to work for the team at some point as whatever he wants, according to Popovich.

If he wants to scout a little bit or run a drill one day or take a week road trip with us, we're open to whatever he wants. We're hoping it will infect him a little bit and he'll want to do more.

Duncan doesn't have to play anymore, but just being there occasionally will help the calm the feels.
