With 2:49 left in the third quarter of Game 2 of the series between the San Antonio Spurs and Houston Rockets on Wednesday, James Harden once again found a way to draw a foul while attempting a three-point shot. However, the replay showed that he was the one who initiated the contact on Patty Mills, who only had his arms straight up.

Gregg Popovich was looking at the jumbotron and could not contain his anger when he saw the play, and fired back at the referees for calling a foul. He was even caught yelling “What the f***,” and  was clearly unhappy with them.

The Beard converted 2-of-3 free throws, which cut the deficit to four points. Yet even with Harden's efforts to keep the game close, the Rockets were outscored 33-13 in the fourth quarter and lost the game, 121-96.

With the series now heading to Houston for Games 3 and 4, Popovich hopes that his strong words will serve as a wake up call to the game officials to take a closer look at how Harden draws fouls from beyond the arc. The veteran head coach knows they need all the help they can get at this point, especially with their opponents playing at home could mean having more energy and will to beat them.
