Memphis Grizzlies forward Jarell Martin is a man with some extra motivation to perform this preseason. The third-year big man is likely to be waived by the Grizzlies and won’t be on their regular season roster. But he’s been given the chance to play and feature himself for other teams during preseason.

Martin is definitely making the most of that opportunity right in the very first game of preseason against the Orlando Magic.

After grabbing a rebound, the 6-foot-8 forward displayed his handles and explosiveness as he took the ball all the the way to the rack for a nasty slam and posterized the Magic's intimidating shot-blocker, Bismack Biyombo. Martin ended the first half a perfect 5-of-5 from the field for 12 points with three rebounds.

Martin has had a nondescript NBA career through his first two years in the league. He had just 3.9 points on 38 percent shooting in just 42 games for the Grizzlies last season. But if he continues to make more plays like this sweet coast-to-coast slam, it may not take him too long to get a new job in the league. That is if the Grizzlies don't just change their mind and keep him on the roster.
