Chandler Parsons of the Memphis Grizzlies has been cleared to play by the medical staff but his status remains ‘inactive.'

Per Shams Charania of The Athletic, he will be healthy-inactive for the ‘foreseeable future.'

The 30-year-old Parsons has been out since late-October due to swelling in his right knee and back soreness. He has only played three games this season and scored as much as 11 points on 3-of-4 shooting from downtown in the team's win over the Atlanta Hawks.

Earlier, Grizzlies general manager Chris Wallace said that Parsons has been putting in the work. He's looking forward to seeing Parsons' status progress in the coming weeks. Per David Cobb of the Memphis Commercial Appeal:

“He is very diligent in putting the time in,” Grizzlies general manager Chris Wallace said Saturday of Parsons, “and we'll see where he is here in the next few weeks.”

Chandler Parsons has only played 73 games since joining the Grizzlies in 2016. And from the looks of it, the team is aware of his fragile state and are not intent on rushing his return. Grizzlies fans may have to wait a little longer to see Parsons back in action.

The former University of Florida standout is owed big money over the next two years — roughly $49.2 million.
