Ja Morant is in the midst of another breakout year and this has led to the Memphis Grizzlies emerging as a legitimate title contender in the West. The 22-year-old's strong play throughout the campaign has fans clamoring for Morant's spot in the upcoming 2022 NBA All-Star Game and apparently, the Grizzlies star could not agree any more.

When asked about the prospect of making his All-Star debut this year, Morant was brutally honest with his response:

“I deserve this. I earned this. I worked for this,” Morant said, via Drew Hill of the Daily Memphian. “This is the way I wanted it. I didn’t want to be no alternate. I don’t want to be a spot-filler.”

In 36 games played this season, Morant has put up averages of 25.3 points (on 48.7 shooting), 6.0 rebounds, 6.9 assists, and 1.3 steals, while also connecting on 1.5 triples per game on a 35.0-percent clip. These numbers alone should be enough to stake his claim for an All-Star spot. However, what makes his season more impressive for Morant is how he's led the Grizzlies to a 32-17 record. That's good for the fourth spot in a ruthless Western Conference as Memphis continues to make noise as a true contender for this season's title.

Morant was one of the biggest snubs of last season's All-Star Game and this year, he's made it abundantly clear through his play and through his words that he definitely deserves to be in Cleveland come the All-Star weekend.
