Memphis Grizzlies point guard Ja Morant recently got a giraffe named after him at a Memphis zoo and it's pretty amazing.

Take a look:

Ja Morant won the 2020 Rookie of the Year Award. He averaged 17.8 points, 3.9 rebounds and 7.3 assists in 67 games in 2019-20 while shooting 47.7 percent from the field, 33.5 percent from beyond the arc and 77.6 percent from the free-throw line.

Morant almost led the Grizzlies to the 2020 playoffs. Memphis lost to the Portland Trail Blazers in the play-in game and fell short of the postseason. However, the team exceeded expectations with Morant leading the way, as most pundits thought the Grizzlies were going to be a lottery team since Mike Conley and Marc Gasol were gone.

Moving forward, Memphis has a really bright future with Morant and Jaren Jackson Jr. leading the way.

After almost tasting the playoffs in year one, we can expect Morant to be more motivated than ever to reach the postseason in year two despite how rugged the Western Conference is.

Morant has been compared to Derrick Rose and Russell Westbrook due to his insane athleticism and ability to score and pass with the best of them. Grizzlies fans are hoping Morant can channel his inner Rose and Westbrook and win an MVP Award one day.

Rose won the 2011 MVP with the Chicago Bulls, while Westbrook was the 2017 MVP with the Oklahoma City Thunder.
