There were some news and whispers about Memphis Grizzlies star Ja Morant joining this year's edition of the All-Star Weekend Dunk Contest. Unfortunately, this never came to fruition. For now, we will need to settle for some in-game dunks from the high-flying point guard.

This is by no means a travesty considering Morant's nasty dunks during games. On Friday, the 21-year-old produced another moment of brilliance with an insane alley-oop slam against the Orlando Magic (h/t Bleacher Report on Twitter):

As soon as you saw the Grizzlies on a 2-on-1 fast-break play with Ja Morant, you knew that something special was about to take place. For a second there, it looked like Dillon Brooks threw a mistimed lob and that Morant jumped a bit early. As it turns out, however, Morant knew exactly what he wanted to do when he took off to catch that oop.

These are the type of plays that deserve at least five or six viewings in order for you to truly appreciate it.

Morant may not be participating in a Dunk Contest anytime soon (we truly hope he does, though), but if these are the types of in-game dunks he produces every so often, then Grizzlies fans will be more than happy to take that.
