Memphis Grizzlies rookie Ja Morant was involved in a pretty funny exchange via Twitter, which centered around Vince Carter's iconic dunk over Frederic Weis in the 2000 Summer Olympics.

Morant took notice of Carter's dunk, which marked its 20th anniversary on Friday:

The folks over at Ballislife.com were excited about Ja Morant replying to their tweet, and they started a bit of an exchange with the Grizzlies guard. They initially replied with a clip of Morant doing his best Vince Carter bit by dunking over somebody while in college at Murray State. While the Rookie of the Year appreciated the nod, he was actually referring to his failed attempt over Cleveland Cavaliers star Kevin Love:

Morant is apparently still kicking himself for missing what would have been a candidate for Dunk of the Year. Still Morant has executed a number of other amazing dunks in his career, including that electrifying Murray State slam.

Then again, as amazing as Morant's dunk was back in his college days, it still pales in comparison to Carter's jaw-dropping slam. Aside from the fact that Carter was able to clear his defender cleanly, he also happened to dunk over a 7-foot-2 Weis. There's no denying that Carter's memorable slam has gone down in history as one of the greatest in-game slam dunks of all time, if not the best.

Ja Morant would probably agree. The youngster just finished up his rookie season, so he still has a lot of time to get one better. Based on what we've seen so far, this is clearly not beyond him.
