In just his second year donning the Memphis Grizzlies jersey, Ja Morant is already aligning himself with franchise legend Mike Conley Jr.

Per ESPN Statistics and Information, Morant has logged in 300 points and 100 assists in a month—a feat that had only been achieved by Conley. To make things sweeter, Morant reached the milestone against Conley himself and the Utah Jazz on Wednesday.

For the month of March, Morant averaged 20.1 points, 3.9 rebounds, and 7.1 assists per outing. He also shot 42.6 percent from the field and 73.2 percent from the free-throw line. His performance has certainly caught the eye of fans and analysts, calling him the next great point guard of the NBA.

He and the Grizzlies, however, fell short against the Jazz, 111-107. Morant exploded for 36 points and seven rebounds. But his numbers weren't enough to stop the league-leading Jazz, who got 26 points and seven assists from Conley, plus 24 and 23 points more from Jordan Clarkson and Bojan Bogdanovic, respectively.

Despite the loss, Grizzlies coach Taylor Jenkins praised the effort of his team. He knows that the Jazz are one of the best teams this season and not getting outplayed for 48 minutes was already a show of the great potential Morant and company possess (via ESPN).
