The Memphis Grizzlies failed to extend their four-game winning streak as they suffered a narrow overtime loss to the New York Knicks on Friday night. After the game, Ja Morant then voiced out his thoughts on Twitter and hoped that the tough defeat will continue to motivate them heading to the latter stages of the 2020-21 season.

Memphis was on a roll in the first three quarters as they seemed like they were on their way to a victory. However, New York managed to make a strong run in the final frame by putting up 31 points as opposed to their opponents' 24.

The game eventually went to overtime with the game tied at 114 apiece. Raring to grab the win, the Knicks successfully outscored the Grizzlies once again in the extra period to escape with a 133-129 victory on their home floor.

RJ Barrett and Immanuel Quickley were major catalysts in the win as they notched 20 points apiece. Derrick Rose, Alec Burks, and Julus Randle also played a huge part in the run that they put up which led to their eventual comeback. On the other end, Morant led his team in scoring with 26 points and six assists of his own in the defeat.

Both teams were hungry for the victory as they are currently finding themselves in the eighth spot of their respective conferences. The Grizzlies are settling with a 26-24 record in the Western Conference while the Knicks are tallying a 26-27 slate in the Eastern Conference.

Ja Morant is hopeful that the loss will strengthen his team's character as they prepare to make a strong push to enter the playoffs this season.
