One of the biggest headlines coming out of Wednesday's slate of playoff games was the ugly incident involving Ja Morant's family being relentlessly heckled by Utah Jazz fans in Game 2 of their first-round matchup. As it turns out, Memphis Grizzlies forward Dillon Brooks' family was also victimized by a handful of racist fans during the game.

Tee Morant, the father of Grizzlies star Ja Morant, earlier revealed that they were abused by surrounding Jazz fans during the game. Apparently, Brooks' family was also subjected to a similarly disturbing experience (h/t John Martin of 92.9 FM ESPN):

It was already reported that three Jazz fans were handed lifetime bans for heckling Morant's family. It is unclear if it was the same fans that took aim at Brooks' family. If it were a different group then this is an even more concerning matter. This would mean that there was more than one set of fans that acted in a truly inappropriate manner during the game. This is definitely an ugly look for Jazz fans everywhere.

Brooks has played a pivotal role for the Grizzlies in what has been a tremendous first-round series against the Jazz. He's been a key player for Memphis, which explains why he's drawn the ire of several Utah fans. Nevertheless, this is absolutely no reason to racially abuse a player's family.

There's no denying that it's great to finally have the fans back in home arenas, but these issues are simply unacceptable.
