Memphis Grizzlies forward Jaren Jackson Jr. has been added to the Team USA Select roster ahead of this year's FIBA competition in China, according to a report from Shams Charania of The Athletic.

Jackson, now 19 years of age and entering his sophomore year of service in the NBA, is coming off of a fine rookie season. The former Michigan State standout made 58 appearances with the Grizzlies during their 2018-19 campaign, racking up averages of 13.8 points on 50.6 percent shooting from the field (35.9 percent from beyond the arc), 4.7 rebounds, 1.1 assists, 1.4 blocks, and just under one steal (0.9) in 26.1 minutes per outing.

Other notable NBA players that have been named to Team USA's Select Team for this year include: Jarrett Allen, Marvin Bagley III, Mikal Bridges, Jalen Brunson, John Collins, Pat Connaughton, De’Aaron Fox, Joe Harris, Jonathan Isaac, Mitchell Robinson, Landry Shamet, Derrick White, and Trae Young.

The Select Team has plenty of talent, so it wouldn't be a surprise to see one or two of them making the final roster.

For whatever reason, several well-known NBA players have decided to withdraw from USA Basketball activities this summer, including Anthony Davis, James Harden, Damian Lillard, and a host of others.

Via Tom Ziller of SB Nation:

Of the 11 Americans on the All-NBA team this past season, only one is currently slated to participate in the World Cup: Kemba Walker.

Still, Team USA has several notable players on its roster:

Guards: Kemba Walker, Kyle Lowry, Donovan Mitchell, Marcus Smart
Wings: Khris Middleton, Jayson Tatum, Jaylen Brown, Harrison Barnes, PJ Tucker
Bigs: Andre Drummond, Myles Turner, Kyle Kuzma, Paul Millsap, Brook Lopez, Thaddeus Young, Julius Randle

Team USA training camp will occur in early August, with the 2019 FIBA World Cup set to tip off in China at the end of the month (Aug. 31 through Sept. 15).
