The Memphis Grizzlies put up a block party during a narrow loss to the New York Knicks on Sunday night, totaling 19 blocks in a game for the first time since 2008, per TheAnonymousUsername of Reddit.

Led by the starting frontcourt of Jaren Jackson Jr. and Marc Gasol, who swatted a combined 12 of the 19 rejections, the Grizzlies limited the Knicks to 37.4 percent shooting from the floor, but were also haunted by the foul line, where New York made a living. The Knicks converted on 27 of their 32 free-throw attempts, ultimately allowing them to get a 103-98 win to string together three wins in a row, all against quality rosters.

Jackson had himself a night, putting up his first perfect outing with 16 points on 6-of-6 from the field, including 4-of-4 from the 3-point line, in addition to his game-high seven blocks. JJJ surprisingly tied JaVale McGee for the most blocks on Sunday, as the Los Angeles Lakers center swatted seven shots by midway through the third quarter of a loss against the Orlando Magic.

Gasol led the way with a full combo platter, posting a game-high 27 points, eight rebounds, four assists, two steals and five blocks.

Five Grizzlies players had two or more blocks in the game, including Garrett Temple, Kyle Anderson and JaMychal Green. However, the young Knicks team still put up a rousing 35-point third quarter to snatch the lead away from Memphis.

The Grizzlies' 19-block performance was the first since the 2008 Phoenix Suns had the same amount against the Atlanta Hawks, but it left a rather sour note, as the last 12 times a team had 19 or more blocks in a game, they managed to win.
