Former No. 4 overall pick Josh Jackson is currently on assignment with the Memphis Grizzlies' G League affiliate, the Memphis Hustle. The team is pleased with his progress, but a call-up is unlikely at this point, according to Peter Edmiston of The Atletic.

The Phoenix Suns traded Jackson to the Grizzlies this summer. Memphis then sent the former McDonald's All-American to the Hustle, where he's played quite well.

In his eight appearances with the Hustle this season, Jackson has racked up averages of 21.6 points on 50.0 percent shooting from the field (46.9 percent from beyond the arc), 8.5 rebounds, 4.1 assists, 1.9 steals, and 1.6 blocks in 33.7 minutes per outing.

The Grizzlies are dealing with several injuries, as well as the ongoing negotiations with Andre Iguodala, who is waiting for a buyout or trade. Jackson could help the team's depth, but it sounds like they're going to stay the course for now.

“As of now, no specific benchmarks, no timeline either of when or if I’ll be called up,” Jackson told The Athletic in mid-November. “Right now it’s all about putting in the work, getting better and that’s all I’m focusing on.”

The Grizzlies, who snapped a six-game losing streak with Sunday's 115-107 victory over the Minnesota Timberwolves, will be back in action on Monday night, when they'll serve as hosts to the Indiana Pacers. Tip-off is set for 8:00 p.m. ET.
