Memphis Grizzlies guard Mike Conley has not had the best of starts to a season, as he has began the campaign on a shooting slump, only converting on 36.8 percent of his shots.

Fresh off his career-best 46 percent from last year, it is now down by more than 9 percent — which has also majorly affected his scoring average.

When asked to give his thoughts about it, the 30-year-old Ohio State product said he remains positive that he'll get over it soon. He then added, according to Michael Wallace of Grizzlies.com, that he has the utmost confidence in his teammates that they will help him snap out of the slump.

“If I had been in one, I don’t recall it,” Conley said. “I don’t even think about it. I always just move on to the next game. You know, it’s tough. But tough times don’t last. I’ll get through it. I know my teammates will help me through it and it will turn around.”

“I’m getting pretty good looks, man. But you’ve got to keep shooting them. They’ll fall. My teammates are confident in me and my coaches are confident in me. It’s just a little frustrating, but I’m going to get it going.”

The good news for the Grizzlies is they have found a way to win games despite his poor shooting. They are currently on top in the Western Conference with a 5-2 record, as his teammates Marc Gasol, Tyreke Evans, and Chandler Parsons have all stepped up their games. Conley has still managed to average solid numbers with 17.3 points, 3.0 rebounds and 4.3 assists in 31 minutes per game.

The Grizzlies are back in action on Wednesday to face off against the Orlando Magic, hoping that it will be the start of Conley's return to his old shooting accuracy.
