Memphis Grizzlies point guard Mike Conley admits it's a challenge to keep everyone on the roster engaged with the season almost over and many players on the team not knowing their future with the club.

Conley himself could be traded in the offseason, while Justin Holiday, Joakim Noah, Delon Wright and Tyler Dorsey all become unrestricted free agents.

Jonas Valančiūnas and C.J. Miles can also become free agents if they decline this 2019-20 player options with the Grizzlies.

But the looming uncertainty of a pivotal offseason means Conley is taking a cautious approach with drawing long-term conclusions or trying to build long-term friendships from the progress the Grizzlies have made.

“That's the challenge,” Conley said, via David Cobb of the Memphis Commercial Appeal. “For us, it's trying to keep everybody engaged, trying to keep everybody locked in. I think we're doing a pretty good job of trying to build, even though guys' futures are uncertain.”

The Grizzlies are once again going to finish with one of the worst records in the NBA this season.

Mike Conley was almost traded at the February trade deadline, but the organization ended up keeping the lefty and trading center Marc Gasol instead.

Memphis has seven games remaining in the regular-season.
