Memphis Grizzlies coach Taylor Jenkins is set for a hefty fine from the NBA after his latest tirade against the referees in their Game 4 loss to the Minnesota Timberwolves.

There's a massive difference in the free throws taken by both teams in the game, and Jenkins made sure to emphasize how the Grizzlies' starters were called for several fouls right in the first quarter. Sure enough, the disparity in the freebies and the bizarre calls they received had a major impact on how the team played the rest of the contest.

Jenkins admitted they could have certainly played better in the 119-118 defeat, but he's certainly frustrated about the referees as he called Game 4 “one of the most poorly officiated games” he has even seen in his entire NBA career.

The Grizzlies had 25 freebies and made 19. Meanwhile, the Timberwolves finished with 40 attempts and made 31.

Among Memphis' starters, Ja Morant had the least personal foul with four, while the likes of Desmond Bane, Dillon Brook, sJaren Jackson Jr. and Xavier Tillman all had at least five. In comparison, none of Minnesota's Starting Five reached five.

With that said, it's easy to see where Taylor Jenkins is coming from. While the referees will never be perfect in calling games, it is definitely worth wondering why there's such a massive disparity. It is even more critical in a playoff game where every win matters.

But then again, speaking about it publicly invites punishment from the NBA. But hey, it is certainly one that Jenkins is willing to pay as long as he brings focus and pressure to the officiating.
