The Memphis Grizzlies have decided to add former UNC Tarheel Tyler Zeller to their roster for the remainder of this season, according to a report from ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski. As part of this deal, the Grizzlies will waive Dusty Hannahs.

Zeller, now 29 years of age, has played for several teams over the course of his career in the NBA, including the Cleveland Cavaliers, Boston Celtics, Brooklyn Nets, Milwaukee Bucks, and most recently, the Atlanta Hawks.

The Hawks gave Zeller a 10-day contract last month (March 7th). However, he was not re-signed once the terms expired, leaving him as a free agent.

At 7-0, Zeller has good size and a knack for crashing the boards. In 408 games played, the California native has racked up averages of 6.9 points on 50.8 percent shooting from the field (28.6 percent from beyond the arc), 4.4 rebounds and just under one assist (0.9) in 17.6 minutes per outing.

Memphis is likely making this move for Zeller due to the fact that several players on the roster are dealing with injuries, including big men Jonas Valanciunas (ankle), Joakim Noah (knee) and Jaren Jackson Jr. (quadriceps).

The Grizzlies (31-47 and 4th in the Southwest Division standings) have just four games remaining this season. They'll be back in action on Friday, when the team travels to Dallas for a match-up against the Mavericks. Tip-off inside the American Airlines Center is set for 8:30 p.m. ET.
