The Memphis Grizzlies have not budged. They remain firm in their stance that the other teams can acquire veteran and Finals MVP Andre Iguodala only through trade. And the Grizzlies want a first-round pick in return.

To recall, Iguodala was sent to the Grizzlies over the summer but hasn't stepped onto the floor to play. Reports reveal that he's waiting for the team either to buy him out or trade him. But according to a league executive, the Grizzlies have no intention of buying him out.

“They haven’t budged,” one league executive told Heavy.com. “Maybe they will as the date gets closer, but they’ve made clear, they’re not interested in a buyout with Andre and they’re looking for a first-rounder. Teams have been trying. They haven’t let go of that. But that tells you they know they’ll be able to get something and won’t have to buy him out.”

Iguodala, 35, has gained league-wide interest over the summer and even up to know. Regarded as a premier defender and one of the smartest players in the league, Iguodala has been eyed by several title contenders.

The Milwaukee Bucks, the Los Angeles Lakers, Houston Rockets, and the Denver Nuggets are just among the elite teams who are either waiting for the buyout or have arranged a trade package. Other teams who have vested interest are the Dallas Mavericks and the Utah Jazz.
