The Memphis Grizzlies are a team with many wishes this offseason. Arguably their biggest desire is for some team to rid them of the albatross contract of forward Chandler Parsons. According to a report by Jonathan Givony of ESPN, the Grizzlies are in contact with as many as seven teams in an attempt to move Parsons and his salary.

The Memphis Grizzlies are in discussions with a number of teams to trade the No. 4 pick in Thursday's NBA draft, league sources tell ESPN. Any such trade would likely include forward Chandler Parsons, whose contract is considered an albatross because of his knee problems.

Givony further lists some of the teams which have given advances with regards to acquiring Parsons presumably with Memphis’ no. 4 pick in their minds.

The Grizzlies have several potential trade partners, as the Dallas Mavericks, Orlando Magic, Chicago Bulls, New York Knicks, Denver Nuggets, Boston Celtics and LA Clippers have shown varying degrees of interest in a deal, a source told ESPN.

If any deal involving Chandler Parsons pushes through, it’s likely going to happen this Thursday during the draft, once the Grizzlies and the interested parties get a better picture of the kind of options they could have with the no. 4 pick. The Grizzlies are also reported as having interest in trading down provided that they still find themselves within the lottery range.

In such a trade, the Grizzlies hope to move back a few spots rather than move out of the lottery altogether, sources told ESPN.

Parsons, who appeared in only 70 games the past two seasons because of knee issues, is set to earn $49.2 million over the next two campaigns.
