Ja Morant, the rookie sensation for the Memphis Grizzlies, has some of the most staggering hops for a point guard in the entire NBA. In fact, one could argue that the 20-year-old No. overall pick is the single-best point guard dunker in the NBA.

With a bendy frame and stunning athleticism, Morant has produced a smattering of highlight-reel dunks and missed dunks so far in his young Grizzlies career. In warmups before the Grizzlies game on Thursday against the Sacramento Kings, Morant pulled off the iconic “honeydip” dunk made famous by Vince Carter:

The “honeydip” dunk has long been one of the most significant indicators of dominant vertical leap, as it requires a player to be way above the rim in order to pull it off. In fact, Hamidou Diallo of the Thunder pulled off such a dunk in the 2019 Dunk Contest in order to secure a win in the event.

Perhaps Morant will one day pull this off in-game or in a dunk contest, but for now, it seems this stylish move is limited to warmups for the Rookie of the Year frontrunner.
