The 2022 MLB season features the debuts of tons of promising young players. Lost in the hype over very talented prospects like Hunter Greene, Spencer Torkelson, Bobby Witt Jr. and Julio Rodriguez is a rookie for the Cleveland Guardians by the name of Steven Kwan. The 24-year-old outfielder is having a historically great start to his major-league career.

According to MLB's Sarah Langs, no player since at least 1901 has gotten on base more times than Kwan in his first three games. The Guardians' sensation became one of six players to record a five-hit game within the first three career games.

The Guardians put up 17 runs against the Kansas City Royals to collect their first win of the season thanks to Kwan's five hits. In the prior two games, he reached base at least three times per game by recording three hits and three walks. So far, he has a comically amazing OPS of 1.857 to start his career.

Cleveland drafted Kwan in the fifth round of the 2018 MLB Draft. He shined at the high levels of the minor leagues last year, posting a .337/.411/.539 slash line in 51 games at the AA level and a .311/.398/.505 slash line in 26 games at the AAA level. Across both levels, he tallied 36 walks and 31 strikeouts.

The Guardians will need all the stupendous hitting they can get in an AL Central that is getting tougher. If Kwan can continue to be efficient at getting on base, he can be a key piece around newly-extended star Jose Ramirez as Cleveland looks to get back to the playoffs.
