What was once an all-Swedish team in EMEA, Guild Esports will now be fielding an international roster for VALORANT Champions Tour (VCT) 2022. The side follows several other European teams who have opted to go global for this year's competitive campaign. Guild has added three new players to its roster to compete alongside the core duo of Leo Jannesson and Saif “Sayf” Jibraeel, and they'll be hoping to make a splash in the pro VALORANT scene for 2022.

Guild VALORANT 2022 Roster Reveal

In a cool new video, Guild revealed the signing of Jose Luis “koldamenta” Aranguren Herrero, Russel “Russ” Mendes, and Nikita “trexx” Cherednichenko. Leo and Sayf had renewed their contracts with the org in November last year. Meanwhile, the other members of the original Guild lineup—draken, bonkar, and Yacine—had departed earlier that month after Guild lost their grand final matchup against Team Liquid at the EMEA Last Chance Qualifier and just missed out on a VCT Champions berth. For 2022, the rebuilt team will be under the coaching direction of under the coaching leadership of former CS:GO pro André “BARBARR” Möller, who had re-signed with Guild not too long ago.

Who are Guild's new VALORANT players?

The newcomers are no slouches in the VALORANT pro scene. Migrating over from the CIS region's Team Singularity, Trexx adds Duelist firepower to the roster and enjoys a good lurk and devour on Reyna. Meanwhile, Koldamenta and Russ both enjoy more utility roles.

Turkish player Russ transitions over from TENSTAR, where he mainly played Skye and Sage, though Guild's video assigns Sova as his agent. Koldamenta actually plays Sova a lot as well, but we also see he also plays a mean Viper to help set up the map. The Spaniard previously started at G2 Esports, after moving from Acend, to try and reach Champions, but just like Guild, G2 had faltered at the LCQ.

Guild had a decent 2021 VCT campaign, reaching the Masters Stage Two Finals and Stage Three Playoffs. However, their regional performance wasn't enough to net them a slot at an international event, with them coming closest—but just falling short—during the LCQ. Like many of the top EMEA teams in TL and G2—and inaugural champions Acend—Guild will have an international squad heading into VCT 2022. The pro circuit opens on January 10 with EMEA Challengers One Open Qualifiers, and the new-look roster will have a chance to impress from the get-go.
